GARDENS OPEN  THE HILL, MILLOM: Sunday 15 June, between 11am and 4pm.  Nine gardens will be open to explore.  Admission to all nine will be £2.50 and tickets and information about locations can be obtained from The Hill Village Hall on the day.  Refreshments will also be served in the village hall.

BROUGHTON SCHOOL SPORTS DAY: Wednesday 2 July, 1–3.30pm

CUMBRIA WILDLIFE TRUST – MILLOM DISCOVERY DAY: Saturday 5 July, 2.30pm Flowers of Hodbarrow with PENNY CLIFTON.  Meet at RSPB reserve entrance, end of Mainsgate Road; 4.45pm – Flowers, insects and possibly natterjack toads at the new Millom Ironworks nature reserve with BILL SHAW.  Park at Duddon Estuary Youth Hostel, Borwick Rails (GR187798); 9pm – Night Flying Moths at the Ironworks nature reserve with ROB PETLEY-JONES.
